Description

Sold for $35 at Youmacon.

Wood-burning based on the tapestry from Brave. Purchased at Youmacon by a lovely woman named Liz who wanted it lined so I took it home and used this left over fabric to line the bottom. I thought the fabric looked similar to her opulent dress during the archery contest scene!

To do the wood-burn I first sand down the lid and sides so I have a smooth surface. I then sketch out what I want the image to look like and use the wood pen to burn the image into the wood. It's not just sketched on, it's carved into the wood ^^! More sanding, coloring, and water-proof sealing the wood and it's all finished.

To line it I used craft foam (just like the kind in the kids crafts isle) and using foam clue I sized the fabric up and left some 'flaps' on the edges that where glued to the underside of the foam and then once that was dried I glued the fabric/foam sheet to the bottom of the box.
